ABOUT

Pietro Condorelli was born in Milan in 1962, but has spent the rest of his life in Caserta where he lives at present.

His long career as a musician has moved in four distinct directions including live performance, recording and  producer, composing for large and small ensembles and teaching.
He has worked in television for the RAI Corporation and Mediaset’s Rete 4, taking part in various shows.

His education includes a degree taken at the DAMS Institute, a diploma in Classical guitar, a teaching qualification for state school employment, a qualification for the teaching of jazz music in music academies.
Despite having experience over a wide range of musical genres such as crossover music and easy listening, Pietro Condorelli has always been more at home with the jazz genre, which, as a passionate listener and expert, he has followed as its language has evolved as time has gone on.
Such versatility has enabled him to move through many experiential events being lucky and privileged enough to collaborate with some of the most famous Italian and international artists.

From 1994 to 1997 he was the guitarist with AREA with Patrizio Fariselli, Giulio Capiozzo e Paolino dalla Porta. This collaboration can be  heard on the Chernobyl 7991 –Sony recording. During his long experience as a freelance artist. He has been fortunate enough to be on stage at many Italian jazz festivals and above all play and record abroad. Performing in Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, the Usa, the Arab Emirates and the UK.

With Trovesi , Colombo, Lenoci ,Lo Cascio he had the chance to play the music of the Third Stream by Ghunter Schuller conducted by the composer.
He is considered a guitar virtuoso by the critics. His technical skills, versatility and professional sight-reading have placed him at the height of the classifications in the specialised press.

He has received various awards from many organisations for his cultural activity and the work he has done to encourage the public to enjoy jazz.

He collaborated the Neapolitan jazz orchestra until 2017, meeting artists such as Randy Weston, Joe Lovano, Archie Sheep, Richard Galliano. He has conducted, arranged for, and recorded with various Big Bands including the jazz orchestra Feelix.

In the area of teaching he directed the Unlimited Guitar School in Pomigliano D’Arco, organizing stages and concerts with artists such as Joe Diorio , Jim Hall, Frank Gambale, Kurt Rosenwinkel , Roberto Taufic , Tommaso lama.
He has collaborated with Mike Stern, Mick Goodrick e Joe Diorio as assistant and translator.

Pietro has taught regularly at summer jazz seminars in Siena for 15 years, and has taken part in a group of teachers in” Siena in jam” with Kurt Rosenwinkel, John Aebercrombie , Roberto Cecchetto.
He has been teaching since 2000 at the prestigious Conservatory San Pietro a Majella in Naples where he is trying not only to train guitarists, but a new generation of jazz soloists in the improvisation classes, he holds.

He has written various texts including, Basic Jazz guitar  Sagi Carish, Idiom  Wakepress, Advanced Jazz guitar  Wakepress.
At the moment he is enjoying playing in trios and giving solo performances.

Pietro plays DV Mark Little jazz since 2015.
