ABOUT

Moda’, Fixforb, S.O.S.

Diego started his guitar studies at 10, and at 17 he began touring around Italy with rock and blues bands. In 1999 he joined the legendary band S.O.S, playing 300 concerts in 3 years.
In 2002 Diego became a part of Modà, a pop-rock band from Milano. In 2004 they released their first album, "Ti amo veramente", selling 40,000 copies and earning the band a feature set at the Festival of Sanremo the following year. After touring on the first album, in 2006 the followup album "Quello che non ti ho detto" was released, and the title track stayed at the top of the singles charts for four weeks. A big, successful tour followed, and album sales hit 50,000. In 2008 Modà released "Sala d'attesa"; and in 2010, the singles "Sono già solo" and "La notte" stayed at the top of the charts for 40 weeks. They returned to the Festival of Sanremo in 2011 with a new single "Arriverà", and an album called "Viva i Romantici" that sold 430,000 copies and was the 2nd top-selling CD of the year.
The tour from July to October, 2011 was totally sold out, with more than 130,000 people attending. To celebrate, at the end of the tour they re-released the CD with a bonus DVD of the sold-out concert at Forum di Assago in October 2011, increasing the total album sales for "Viva i Romantici” to 500,000.
The enormous success of the disc earned Modà many awards, including: MTV Europe Music Awards 2011 (Best Italian Act); Wind Music Awards 2011 (Viva i romantici album multiplatinum, «Arriverà» digital multiplatinum, «Sono già solo» digital platinum, «La notte» digital platinum); Premio Lunezia 2011 (premio pop-rock); MTV TRL Awards 2011 (Best New Act and Best Italian Act); Venice Music Awards 2010 (band rivelazione dell’anno); Wind Music Awards 2010 (premio AFI rivelazione dell’anno).
In 2012 the band released the single "Come un pittore", featuring Jarabe de Palo, and a new album will be released in early 2013.
Besides his work with Modà, Diego also plays in the Prog-Funk trio FIXFORB, with Modà bassist (and Markbass artist) Stefano Forcella and drummer (and Mark Drum artist) Milly Fanzaga. They perform often around Italy; in 2009 they released their eponymous debut album, and a follow-up is planned for 2012.
