Roberto Di Virgilio has been a professional guitarist since 1987. He studied at Accademia Testaccio of Roma, then honed his skills through workshops with Scott Henderson, Joe Diorio, Mike Stern and John Scofield. He is active in the Italian pop music scene and also keeps busy with indie, rock and blues projects.
He started his professional experience with the IPJS Orchestra, led by jazz man Paolo Damiani, with Ettore Fioravanti and Paolo Fresu. Roberto has also collaborated on stage and in the studio with Aida Cooper, Giampiero Artegiani, Lena Biolcati, and Drupi.
From 2000 to 2010 he was the guitarist for Michele Zarrillo, both live and studio. In 2011 he toured with Giorgio Panariello’s show, “Panariello non Esiste.”
Roberto has collaborated with the Roman singer-songwriter The Niro, Francesco Di Giacomo (Banco del Mutuo Soccorso), the electronic folk group COREaCORE, and with the S.I.M.

He’s a teacher of the advanced guitar course at the Accademia Lizard of Pescara.
